philosophy of family
In my opinion, I believe that there is no one definition for the meaning of family. I believe that families consist of many parts and members, whether they be biologically related or not. In occupational therapy, I think that it is crucial for the child to have a reliable support system throughout their therapeutic journey. That way, the skills and techniques that the child and I work on during a session can also be worked on at home as well. I believe that family involvement is the best approach to therapy and will allow the child to achieve his or her goals. Without family involvement, occupational therapy may not have the ability for the patient to reach his or her highest potential and become independent and successful.
